University Partners

SCL is committed to being a global academic leader in supply chain and logistics research and education. In fulfilling this commitment, SCL has developed, and continues to develop and nurture, its relationships with other academic and research organizations around the world. At the invitation of the Government of Singapore, Georgia Tech partnered with the National University of Singapore to establish The Logistics Institute Asia Pacific in 1999. Today TLI Asia Pacific is a highly successful and recognized leader in global supply chain research and education focusing on Asia Pacific issues.

Since 1999, SCL has expanded its global reach to include the following academic and research partners around the world:

  • The Logistics Institute Asia Pacific – a partnership between Georgia Tech and National University of Singapore
  • Sino – U.S. Logistics Institute – a partnership between Georgia Tech and Shanghai Jiao Tong University. 
  • Council for Scientific and Industrial Research (South Africa) – in 2003 SCL CSIR to co-sponsored a U.S. National Science Foundation sponsored logistics research meeting in Pretoria. Since 2003 SCL and CSIR have partnered to offer an annual executive education programs in Pretoria, Johannesburg and Cape Town, South Africa.
  • Commonwealth Science and Industry Research Organization (Australia) – SCL is working with CSIRO on global supply chain research in the area of temperature controlled supply chains between the southern and northern hemispheres.
  • National Catholic University of Chile – SCL and the National Catholic University of Chile co-sponsored a global wine supply chain workshop in Chile in 2007. As an outgrowth of this workshop SCL and NCU are organizing a Global Wine Supply Chain Council to focus research on the unique challenges of shipping wine around the world from vineyards to consumers. The SCL – NCU collaboration has also included NCU faculty and students visits to the Georgia Tech campus.

In addition to the above university partners, Georgia Tech has its own European campus in Metz, France (Georgia Tech Lorraine) which SCL uses for a European base for its executive education and other industry outreach programs.
