About the Event

For online/virtual events, Georgia Tech students should set up video appointments (typically 15 minutes, but can vary) with employers through the Career Fair Plus (CF+) platform. We are also encouraging employers to host a drop-in room where students can chat with a company representative.

How to Get Started for Online/Virtual Events

Have your resume ready for upload and login/register within the Career Fair Plus app or CF+ website. Please use your @gatech.edu email address.

Step 1 - Review the CF+ Candidate Checklist and watch both videos

Step 2 - *Download the Career Fair Plus app (Apple Store or Google Play).

Step 3 - Search for "Georgia Institute of Technology" when prompted for an Organization. Choose Fall GT SCL Virtual Supply Day (Sept 2023) as the event (this may not appear until closer to the event date).

Step 4 - Click on the Meetings icon/tab to create your CF+ account and profile in the app. Have your resume ready to upload.

Step 5 - Search for employers and create a list of those you are most interested in.

Step 6 - Be on the CF+ app at 8am <DATE TBD> when company Appointment Reservations open for students to reserve a meeting slot with company recruiters.

About Organization Meeting Schedules in Career Fair Plus
Please note that we notify and urge organizations to create their recruiting meeting schedules by Monday, September 4, but some may not. We suggest students check the Career Fair Plus website and app daily/periodically up to the event for newly create/available organization schedules.

Step 7 - Participate in the Virtual Fair on Thursday, September 14, 2023 during your appointment times using the CF+ mobile app or your computer.

*CF+ has recently added functionality to their website (https://www.careerfairplus.com/). Click on "RECRUITER/CANDIDATE LOGIN" in upper right-hand corner to login or register. You can also upload your resume and book meetings through their website. 

Tips for Preparing for a Virtual Career Fair

Update Your Resume

Remember that your resume should be clean, concise, and up to date. Have a digital copy ready to submit online to recruiters and hiring managers. Make sure to have your resume in PDF Form to avoid any digital re-formatting issue. 

Research Companies

Prior to the Virtual Career Fair, access the list of employers and pick companies that interest you. Research these companies thoroughly and effectively through company websites, Linkedln, and other social media. 

Create a Calendar Reminder

When you do not have to coordinate your travel, a Virtual event can slip your mind. Set calendar reminders for the day before and two hours before. 

Prepare Your Introduction

Prepare an introduction about your education, skills, and future goals. Use this guide to help you prepare. Additionally, have a digital copy available to pin to your resume digitally. 

Professional Dress and Setting

Even though you will not be traveling to meet employers, dress appropriately, and look well-groomed for a video interview. Keep in mind that your location should be distraction-free with a professional and uncluttered background. 

Stay Organized

Organize your company information and your contact information. Create a spreadsheet or chart where you can easily input information about the connections you make or the companies to which you submitted your resume. 

Thank You Notes

Send thank you emails to all individuals that you made contact with.
