After 10 Successful Years, Edwin Romeijn to End Role as ISyE Chair

Edwin Romeijn will step down as H. Milton and Carolyn J. Stewart School Chair at the end of the fall semester, completing his second term as chair. During his 10 years of leadership, the H. Milton Stewart School of Industrial and Systems Engineering (ISyE) ranked No. 1 among undergraduate and graduate programs every year by U.S. News & World Report

Romeijn will return to his full-time role as professor in January 2025. 

“Edwin’s decade of leadership has established ISyE as the preeminent industrial engineering program in the nation, often redefining the field itself,” said Raheem Beyah, dean of the College of Engineering and Southern Company Chair. “His vision has made the School a prominent leader in fields that include analytics, data science, machine learning, and artificial intelligence. I’m grateful for Edwin’s visionary leadership and unwavering commitment to ISyE and the College, and I look forward to continuing to partner with him as he serves out his term.”
