Areas of Focus
Supply Chain Day is a logistics-focused "Career Fair" and an opportunity to meet students specifically interested in the field of supply chain and logistics. Typically, we host half-day sessions for organizations to let our students know more about their company and to make them aware of job opportunities within their organization. We typically host 3 events per year in January, September and November. The event is hosted on the Georgia Tech campus within the ISyE main building atrium. We provide tables for participating organizations and food and refreshments for all.
First-time attendance is no cost, but organizations are welcome to make a donation. SCL Innovation Network (SCIN) member companies may participate in multiple events each year with no charge (please let us know if you aren’t sure whether or not you are a member or would like to become one). For non-member companies who have participated in past SCL recruiting events, we request a donation of $500 per event.
Graduate and undergraduate students from within the Stewart School of Industrial & Systems Engineering (ISyE) are invited to the event as well as select students from other departments on campus SCL works with. Attendance typically ranges from 100-150 people (based on past attendance…40% undergraduate students, 35% masters in supply chain engineering students, 20% other masters students, 5% Ph.D. students). For those not familiar with ISyE, please refer to our ISyE Fact Sheet and ISyE/SCE Overview.
Due to high demand and limited/fluctuating building space throughout the school year, we limit company participation for each event/session. Priority placement will be given to: 1) SCIN Members, 2) Donors, 3) First Time participants, then sequenced by the timing of receipt of company requests to participate. SCL will provide tables and chairs for participating companies and the companies are asked to bring a typical compact conference/career fair set-up (or customized table covering). SCL provides pizza and drinks for students and company representatives (thanks to donation from APICS-Atlanta).
Ahead of the event, we ask attending companies to complete an online questionnaire to provide electronic information about the company and specific openings that they would like to share with the students. This information will be provided to students who register for the event.
